The sudden appearance of a forest, when I hadn't seen a tree over my height in days
Nest and eggs that I ran across quite regularily. I was so hungry I considered eating them. But then I remember I was a vegetarian. And that I didn't like eggs anyways. And that I imagine what was inside probably was a little bird just about to hatch. Not so appetizing.

My mistake, I didn't have a map for a small segment of my route and ended taking a pass into the wrong river valley. The North Fork Chandalar river.
